Eldoret is a town in western Kenya and the administrative centre of Uasin Gishu District of Rift Valley Province. Lying south of the Cherangani Hills, the local elevation varies from about 2100 metres above sea level at the airport to more than 2700 metres in nearby areas (7000-9000 feet). The population was 193,830 in 1999 (census),and it is currently the fastest growing town in Kenya, and currently the 5th largest in Kenya. CHRISC activities are carried out in Langas, railways, kamanda, maili nne and outspan, they mostly involve football and volleyball as the main sports for the youth in the area. CHRISC uses sports as a tool for community development and Eldoret as proved to be one of the vital area to use sports expecially after the post election violence in Kenya that torn the country apart. We aim to organize tournaments, football league and iniatiate school program to address peace building and reconciliation, HIV/AIDS, life skills, drug and substance abuse and further we conduct training in coaching, refereering, league and tournament management, sports administration, leadership and team building and first aid.
